In 2000, I was admitted to Hebei Normal University, walked from the countryside to Shijiazhuang City, and started a career that will determine the fate of the rest of my life.
Stepping into the school gate, a mysterious and tense rhythm began. Mystery is because I am curious about everything. I have lived in the countryside since I was a child, and I have little knowledge.
I was nervous because I was afraid that my grades would not keep up with many subjects. The first year of college has passed in a hurry.
In the third year of university, the school began to let us do internships, because the subject of teaching English cannot be replaced by rote memorization. It is not enough to memorize, but also to be able to express fluently. So I started working as a home education teacher and participated in English competitions. At that time, my dream was to become a high school English teacher after graduating from university. Zong Zong participated in many similar activities, but the results were not satisfactory. So good units are being recruited by students with good grades. Seeing that the students have found their own internship units, I have never found a suitable unit, and I feel anxious. Our head teacher, Mr. Wu, interviewed us one by one in private, telling us not to worry, hold on, and focus on learning, and opportunities will come. At that time, if I didn’t understand the teacher’s thinking, I would sulk.
Teacher Wu did not give up and enlightened us again and again. She said: All roads lead to Rome. Don’t be intimidated by temporary difficulties. You have an advantage that others can’t compare —
a strong ability to resist pressure. Work harder and learn more, and you will definitely find a job that suits you.
Let’s put it this way, after repeated defeats and battles for almost a year, things finally turned around at the spring job fair in 2003 – foreign trade salesperson job fair.
In that recruitment, a total of 8 people in our class went to private enterprises to work as international trade salesmen, including me.
Since 2004, I started working as an international trade sales clerk, and I have been working so far.
After graduating from school for more than 20 years, every year I take time to have dinner with Teacher Wu to see how she is doing physically and mentally. Because I am grateful, when we are in the most difficult time,
she is like a mother, encouraging us, guiding us, keeping us from going astray, and pointing out a suitable life path for us.
Now I have my own company team, a total of 20 people. I am the general manager, let us slow people go out of our own way.
Thank you, Teacher Wu.
